AI Coding Engineer
Our client is a global LegalTech organization delivering data-driven digital solutions that help businesses manage regulatory complexity, improve compliance processes, and make smarter decisions.
We usually respond within a day
Our client is the global leader in regulatory and sustainability intelligence, helping the world's largest companies navigate Environment, Health & Safety, Corporate Sustainability, and Product Compliance.
Inside their High Value Intelligence (HVI) team, a small group of consultants turns dense regulatory and sustainability content into the insight their clients act on. To help them work faster and smarter, they are creating a brand-new role: an AI Coding Engineer who turns the team's day-to-day needs into working solutions, fast.
This is a hands-on, business-facing role. You sit inside the team, learn how its consultants work, and use AI-assisted development tools to turn their day-to-day needs into lightweight internal tools, dashboards, and automations, fast. It is far more about understanding the work and shipping useful solutions than about deep software engineering: a dedicated AI/engineering team handles production deployment and infrastructure, so you can focus on building. You will report directly to the Chief Intelligence Officer (CIO) and work side by side with the consultants you build for. It is a rare chance to own real impact, with close mentorship and AI tools at the centre of how you work.
🚀 Responsibilities:
Turning Needs into Tools
Spend time with the team to deeply understand their workflows and the regulatory domain; then translate that into practical solutions using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, and similar).
Build and maintain lightweight internal tools, dashboards, and automations that improve the efficiency and output of the team.
Take a pragmatic, iterative approach: ship solutions that deliver value fast and improve them over time, rather than chasing perfection; nothing here is client-facing.
Rapid Prototyping & Automation
Rapidly prototype solutions in response to team needs, ensuring timely delivery of functional outputs.
Automate repetitive or time-consuming tasks currently done manually by consultants, freeing them to focus on high-value work.
Quality & Handover
Review and validate AI-generated code and prompts so they are fit for purpose and reliable enough for internal use.
Build in a way that a dedicated AI/engineering team can pick up for production deployment, infrastructure, and monitoring.
Keep solutions aligned with relevant data privacy regulations (GDPR) and internal policies.
Bringing New Ideas
Stay current with the fast-evolving landscape of AI coding tools and proactively bring new ideas and approaches to the team.
👤 Profile sought:
Experience
Around 1–4 years' experience — we care far more about what you have actually built than about years on paper.
A track record of building working tools, scripts, or automations with AI-assisted coding tools, whether at work or in your own side projects.
Hands-on, proactive use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar LLM-based tools in your day-to-day.
Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or equivalent: enough to produce reliable output with AI assistance.
Experience in a consulting or IT/system-audit environment is a strong plus: comfort sitting with business teams and turning their needs into solutions.
Technical skills
Strong prompt engineering skills: able to write, structure, and iterate on prompts to get precise, reliable outputs from LLMs.
Comfortable using AI tools beyond coding: prompting LLMs to analyse documents, summarise content, or generate structured reports.
Exposure to data handling, APIs, web scraping, or workflow automation tools (e.g. Power Automate, Zapier, or similar).
A strong analytical mindset: able to understand a business need and translate it into a simple, effective technical solution.
Bonus
Background in or exposure to regulatory, legal, compliance, or intelligence environments.
Experience contributing to open-source projects or a personal portfolio of AI-built tools.
Languages
Fluent English required. Other languages are an asset.
Soft skills
Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and the drive to move solutions forward independently.
Exceptional ability to listen, ask the right questions, and distil complex needs into clear, actionable outputs.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, business-facing environment.
A natural collaborator who builds trust quickly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Genuine passion for AI and emerging technologies, with the curiosity to keep exploring what's possible.
🌍 Benefits & Culture:
Tech stack: GitHub Copilot, Claude and other AI coding assistants, Python, JavaScript, APIs and web scraping, workflow automation (Power Automate, Zapier), Microsoft 365.
A brand-new role at the technical heart of a high-impact intelligence team; your work directly shapes how consultants do theirs.
Real ownership and short feedback loops from day one, reporting directly to the Chief Intelligence Officer.
Close mentorship and a steep learning curve in a domain where regulation, sustainability, and AI meet.
A culture that treats AI tools as force multipliers, not novelties.
Competitive compensation, benefits, and flexibility.
